Dedication to Innovation

Whitworth Leisure Group was founded in Manchester city centre, where innovation is embedded into its rich history. Manchester was a leader in the industrial revolution and the birthplace of the modern railway; innovations that changed the world.

The journey began on Whitworth Street, which was named after Manchester engineering icon and inventor, Joseph Whitworth, and was home to the legendary Hacienda nightclub, that was fundamental in launching Manchester as a music and cultural hotspot worldwide.

Whitworth Street is where the career foundations that led to our business were built in the leisure industry. With a passion for excellence in health and fitness, and a combined expertise and knowledge, the journey began to raise the standard of the UK boutique fitness industry, starting with our home of Manchester.

The name Whitworth, reflects our history, reinforces innovation, our desire to lead the way in our industry, and honours a name synonymous with Manchester that will live on through the ages.

Meet The Team

Ben Waldron

Commercial Director &

Co-Founder

Ben is an accomplished and experienced People and Sales Specialist with over 15 years of Sales, Relationship and Management experience.

Starting out in the industry as a Personal Trainer he went on to work up from Membership Sales Advisor to Club Manager, before branching into Executive Coaching and then Marketing.

As a leader he is all about continuous improvement; training, coaching, mentoring and developing individuals professionally and personally to build strong and positive teams and environments. His belief is that a business should be built on understanding the needs of the customer to build real relationships and create member journeys that matter.

Co-founding Whitworth Leisure Group was a natural progression to bring together his passion for innovating brands and people.
